About Me
Telling stories.... that has always been a love of mine. I started writing stories in elementary school. As I grew up, my desire to tell stories grew. I branched out to not just writing stories, but sharing them through activities such as 4-H Public Speaking.
I attended the University of Tennessee, which opened more avenues for me to tell stories. I became very involved in the production side of creating films and videos. I worked with the Volunteer Channel and also participated in several video production classes. This eventually led to my decision to create a short film documentary for my thesis project for my master's.
I am now a working producer at WVLT news, which allows me to tell local stories every day. I have gotten to experience what it is like be a part of a working newsroom. This job has connected me to my community more as I gain an understanding of their lives by hearing and telling their stories.
I currently have two Bachelor's degrees in Agricultural communications and in Journalism and Electronic Media. I also have a Master's degree in Communications. I am looking to begin a PhD program soon.
